RE: Bright lights in neighbors back yard

Most every RVer on this board HATES Home Owner's Associations - the implication is that no one should be able to tell me where I can park my RV. So if someone doesn't like looking at an RV, tough luck
Now, here we have a guy with a bright light. Why is it that everyone feels it's OK for them to tell him how to live? If he told them to get their RV into a storage area rather than in their yard (so they didn't have to look at it), I can only imagine the responses.
Build your fence. Put up a blind (IMO, your wife is being unreasonable). Enjoy life.

RE: WOW!!!! Just Got HD.

I can't believe people don't see a HUGE difference when going to HD. Make sure you use HDMI cables as they really do make a difference. Can be found cheap on eBay.

RE: Social Security.....I hadnt heard of this before

i am on ss disability. when i got on it, the information pack you get explains exactly what the texan posted above. ss is a lot like insurance really, most people will collect more than they ever paid in, some people die before they collect a centNot likely.

RE: Hi-Lo trailers

Don't have one. like the full tt better, so you can rest or have lunch ion the road.Which you can do in a Hi-Lo just as easily as a regular TT (assuming you can wait those 12 seconds while the top raises).
Check out the Yahoo! Group, it's pretty active & some very knowledgeable people there.
If you have any specific questions, just ask.

RE: Lake cabin vs RVing

Have dreamed of owning a camp on a lake for many years. RVing was a blast but health issues lead us to sell our trailer. Given the mess of our economy, the lake cottage will need to wait.
Hope everyone enjoys their own form of relaxation.
EDIT - Ooops, need to change the signature . . .

RE: Bad Walmart Campers II

I'm glad there's so many people that enjoy parking lot camping. Makes more real campsites available for others.

RE: emerald ash borer

So instead of showing all of us what the Emerald Ash Borer looks like (who cares, we never actually see it), why aren't they showing us how to identify ASH WOOD and ban THAT from camping firewood. What is the poing of confiscating someone's load of Hemlock firewood? Totally pointless. But no, it's much easier to take the easy way out no matter how many it inconveniences, besides it would cut into the price gouging profits on "local" wood. You can bet that load of confiscated Hemlock gets resold to campers at a HUGE profit.
Yes, the threat of the Emeral Ash Borer is real.
So animals have never been known to evolve? You're sure they won't develop a taste for that hemlock of yours? Me, I'd rather err on the conservative side even if it inconveniences me some & costs me a bit more to camp.

RE: iMac Question

My MIL has one of the round iMacs also (her Grandson bought it for her last Christmas). Last week, I set-up the computer to broadcast XM radio from her car account. It sounds OK in the room with the iMac but unfortunately, she is hard of hearing (& won't consider hearing aids) so I'm wondering if there are any wireless speakers that she could use so she could hear the broadcast throughout the house. Thanks.

I have no idea why those who profess a love for the outdoors will only take measures to preserve same if it does not inconvienience them.
Pretty sad, isn't it?

RE: 1st Timer w/? & Pets TT or Toy Hauler??

I don't see any question?
Lots of opinions here, but you need to ask a clear question. IMO try another post. You have a career as a WM greeter ahead of you....
How about her question - TT or toy hauler?

RE: Okay -- American Idol

David A. is a nice boy, don't get me wrong. But when I say he should grow up he should at least act 17. I've seen kids his age, granted not on a major TV show, perform in public without looking as if they would cry. Perform as in act, sing, play sports, etc...As you noted, AI is not your average stage play in the local theater.
People react differently to the same circumstances - I've seen many people squash a bug but my DW still screams when she sees one - doesn't mean she's not "grown up".

RE: TT storage covering

We do not cover ours. Can't see the reason. Don't cover our cars (except the convertable) either. How often do you recaulk the seams on your cars? Hardly a fair comparison.

RE: How often do you replace your fresh water hose

keep the ends screwed together when in storage, this will also help in how long you can keep a hoseI prefer to let air dry out the hoses rather than screwing the ends together.

RE: Are we unreasonable? Recent Camping experience...

To the OP - you asked if you were unreasonable. Based on your recent reply, I'd guess some people thought you were. You probably shouldn't ask a question if you don't want to hear the answers.

RE: Dumping RV antifreeze into the yard ok?

gosh, I used to drain the antifreeze out of the car onto my lawn and sure enough a brown spot appeared that took a very short time to bounce back and turn green again. I am sure that stuff is more toxic than the stuff that you can actually drink.
bumpyI hope you know better now (& not because of dead grass).

RE: Okay -- American Idol

Jason Castro is prime example of this. Not that he is not talented, but, as the show goes on, it is becoming increasingly apparent that his ability is very constrained within a certain level. Yet his fan base is keeping him on the show, despite his lack of talent.Agreed. A bunch of giggly 14 year old girls with cell phones are the only reason he survived the cut this week. The singing by Carly & Syesha this week was clearly better than Jason's.
